031110 2003 Beef Feedlot Conference This MonthNovember 8, 2003The 2003 Beef Feedlot Conference, Access and Success in the Future Marketplace, will be held Nov. 18 to 19 at the Hotel at Gateway Center in Ames, Iowa. The event will focus on the future of the cattle market. "As record cattle prices and profits are sweeping the cattle industry today, long-term and fundamental changes are occurring in the marketplace of tomorrow. This conference will look at what the marketplace of the future will be like and what producers will need to do in order to be competitive," said Dan Loy, professor of animal science at Iowa State University (ISU). Dr. Bill Mies of eMerge Interactive will deliver the keynote address focusing on what the future marketplace will look like. Other noted cattle industry experts, including Dr. John Wiemers of the USDA, Dr. Robbi Pritchard of South Dakota State University and Dr. Mike Apley of ISU will speak on the new marketplace and how producers can compete in it. The cost is $125 for registrations received on or before Nov. 1 and $150 for on-site registrations and those received after Nov. 1.
