031007 Tests Done on New Livestock Tracking SystemOctober 10, 2003Calgary, Alberta, Canada - Advanced ID Corp. has announced the successful completion of final tests on their new livestock tracing and tracking system. Tests were completed under the auspices of The Canadian Cattle Identification Agency at the Cargill slaughterhouse in Calgary. The CCIA is charged with developing and administrating tracking systems aimed at securing the health and safety of all Canadian livestock herds. CCIA has mandated positive trace back since 2002. Advanced ID ‘s new UHF higher frequency ear tags have passed all required functions of reading, tracing and tracking from a distance of 3-6 feet at ranch, feedlot and slaughter house kill line locations. This new technology conforms to the AutoID Center’s protocol which has been adopted by Wal-Mart, Gillette and over 100 major companies around the world dedicated to tracking and identification systems. The technology also conforms to ISO standard. The performance of RFID systems is based on using higher frequency UHF tags. The Advanced ID Corp. technology promotes longer reading distance, read/write technology all at much lower cost, than current RFID systems. Advanced ID’s new system with its proprietary software program will greatly add to the efficiency of tracking from birth to slaughter of all livestock/herd animals. Advanced ID Corp is now beta testing a new tag for hogs in Taiwan with its strategic partner LKIT. The government of Taiwan has issued a mandate that all hogs be identified with an RFID button tag no later than 2004. Advanced ID has received permission to supply their new tag due to the poor retention rate and short reading distance of both the current bar code and RFID systems. In 1999, Taiwan experienced an outbreak of Mad Cow Disease that eliminated over 8 Million hogs and decimated their export industry. Advanced ID Corporation is working with distributors in New Zealand, Australia, Thailand, China, and Argentina. Due to the last outbreak of BSE in Canada, the latest requirements of the USDA will necessitate positive tracking from both visual and RFID certified vendors. As the CCIA has implemented a certified tracking system the USDA is working very closely with the CCIA on joint efforts to insure the 48 hour tracking requirements. Advanced ID Corporation is a publicly held company with head offices in Calgary and production centers with their strategic partners in Switzerland, Germany, Hong Kong and China.
