030913 Hormel, Union Workers Reach Agreement

New York - United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) said it reached a tentative contract agreement with Hormel Foods Inc., a maker of Spam luncheon meat and Always Tender beef.

UFCW said the agreement would cover more than 3,000 workers in Iowa, Georgia, Nebraska, Wisconsin and Minnesota.

The two sides were in federal mediation after an impasse over wages, health benefits and pensions.
