030217 Real Family Meals Meet the Meat Case

February 21, 2003

Glenview, IL - When it comes to family dinner, there's a big difference between the kind of meals mom wants to serve her family and the kind she has time to make. But how can she spend less time preparing dinner, more time with her family and still be able to serve great tasting dinners like the ones she grew up with? Help is here thanks to new Kraft FreshPrep Dinner Kits, the first refrigerated dinner kits from Kraft Foods that can be found in your grocer's meat case. With Kraft FreshPrep, mom can make a freshly- baked dinner on even the busiest weeknight.

Kraft FreshPrep Dinner Kits contain the same high quality ingredients mom would use to make dinner, like freshly shredded Kraft cheeses, refrigerated no-boil pastas and authentic sauces. She simply adds her own fresh meat (such as chicken or ground beef), assembles the ingredients as directed and bakes. With most of the chopping, slicing, and dicing removed from the cooking process, mom can have dinner in the oven in minutes and serve a meal to her family with 30 minutes or less of baking time.

"Mom would like to serve the same home-cooked meals her mom served. But she doesn't want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen -- she would rather spend time with her family," said Mike Locascio, Senior Brand Manager, Kraft Foods. "We've developed Kraft FreshPrep Dinner Kits to take much of the time intensive work out of cooking so mom can spend more time enjoying a sit-down dinner and less time making it." All the quality ingredients needed to make a satisfying, delicious meal are included in each Kraft FreshPrep Dinner Kit except for the meat. Kraft makes deciding what to make for dinner easier by conveniently shelving Kraft FreshPrep in the meat case.

Kraft FreshPrep Dinner Kits come in six delicious varieties: Classic Italian Lasagna, Fiesta Taco Dinner Bake, Three Cheese Chicken Enchiladas, Mexican Style Lasagna, Four Cheese Chicken Alfredo, and Chicken Parmesan with Linguine. Kraft FreshPrep will be in grocery stores nationwide beginning in mid-January 2003. All six varieties of new Kraft FreshPrep have a suggested retail price of $5.69 and will be found in the refrigerated meat case of grocery stores.
