020622 White Castle Partners with "Parenting and Beyond"

June 15, 2002

Columbus, OH - White Castle officials announced an exciting new partnership with "Parenting and Beyond" to help share the story of White Castle, with special emphasis on the frozen product available in the grocery store. The partnership will involve broadcast coverage from coast to coast, airing on cable channels such as Bravo, Food Network, Oxygen, PAX TV and The Health Network.

"Parenting and Beyond" is an Emmy Award-winning half-hour news program dedicated to providing parents the insights and knowledge they need to raise a family in modern times. The program is distributed by Five Star Productions.

"We feel great about the partnership this opportunity provides to connect with our customers in a meaningful and relevant way," said Rob Camp, White Castle vice president and the general manager of the White Castle Distributing division.

"Our history of serving up delicious hamburgers, first in our restaurants and now through the grocery venues, sets us apart from the rest of the industry when it comes to understanding and meeting the needs of families all over the country for great taste and great value," said Vicki Reilly, the director of sales and marketing for White Castle Distributing. "This partnership with 'Parenting and Beyond' allows us to reinforce that message with literally millions of our customers in a format that is informational and fun."

The White Castle grocery store presence has grown steadily since its introduction in 1987 as changing consumer lifestyles have promoted a need for great food that is convenient for working moms and busy kids. This year, White Castle will deliver a message focused on great taste and value in a variety of venues, from the "Parenting and Beyond" partnership to an aggressive national print campaign including ads in publications like People, Rolling Stone, Ebony and U.S. Weekly.

White Castle, the nation's first fast-food hamburger chain, was also the first quick-service restaurant to sell frozen product in groceries. Today, customers from coast to coast can enjoy the legendary taste of White Castle whether frequenting restaurant drive-thrus or visiting their freezer case.
