011127 Meat Plants Release Holiday Schedules

Chicago - U.S. beef and pork companies released the following schedules for Monday in observance of the U.S. Veterans Holiday, which was Sunday.

Cargill Inc. - Subsidiary Excel Corp.'s two pork plants and five beef plants will operate.

Conagra Foods Inc. The company's three pork plants and three beef plants will operate.

Hormel Foods Corp. The company's Rochelle, Illinois, pork plant will operate but its pork plants in Austin, Minnesota, and Fremont, Nebraska will be closed.

Farmland Industries - The company's three pork plants will operate. Its beef plant in Liberal, Kansas, will be closed but the beef plant in Dodge City, Kansas, will operate.

IBP Inc. Three of the company's 10 U.S. beef plants will be closed. They are in Amarillo, Texas Emporia, Kansas, and West Point, Nebraska. All of its six pork plants will operate.
