010373 Jack-in-the-Box Same-Store Sales Up 4%March 24, 2001San Diego, CA - Restaurant operator and franchiser Jack in the Box Inc. said same-store sales for the four weeks ended March 18 rose 4% from a year earlier. Jack in the Box said it continues to expect second-quarter earnings of 46 to 50 cents per diluted share. Higher labor, utility, beef and produce costs will offset the positive effects of stronger same-store sales, leaving quarterly earnings per share unaffected, Jack in the Box Chairman and Chief Executive Robert Nugent said. Nugent said he expects same-store sales growth of 3 to 4% for fiscal 2001. E-mail: sflanagan@sprintmail.com |
