001016 ConAgra Unveils New Product Launch

Omaha, NE - ConAgra Chairman and CEO Bruce Rohde set the table for ConAgra Foods' growth at its Annual Shareholders Meeting with an announcement about new snacks, fun foods and complete meals being introduced for people who are on the run and looking for fun!

-- A line of tomato-based meal-starters from Hunt's called Family Favorites. The product makes it a little easier to create a good "family favorite" meal because, printed on every can, is a recipe that tells consumers exactly what to add to complete their family favorite meals. Varieties include tomato sauces for Lasagna, Pasta, Pizza, Tacos, Meatloaf, Chili and Soup & Stew.

-- A line of nicely priced casseroles called Home Style Bakes from Banquet. This new box -- mix is rolling nationally following very successful regional trials. Each Bake comes complete with all the ingredients necessary for a complete, hearty meal. Flavor varieties include: Creamy Chicken and Biscuits, Chili with Corn Bread, Creamy Turkey with Stuffing, and Beef Stew and Biscuits.

-- A Reddi-wip "Light" with half the fat and all the fun.

-- A new line of gel-cup Snack Packs with a flavor explosion called Jolly Rancher Gel Snacks. Available in watermelon/green apple, cherry/strawberry, watermelon, strawberry, and sugar-free raspberry.

-- A new line of Armour Guaranteed Tender Pork items that more than live up to their name. Enhanced to make the meat more tender and juicy, this flavorful pork line offers many favorite cuts, including boneless pork tenderloin, boneless loin pork chops, spareribs and backribs. Rohde also announced that shareholders made the name change to ConAgra Foods officially through approval of a proxy vote on the matter. Rohde said, “Adding 'Foods' to the name completes the statement in telling people what we do. It makes it clear that we're focused on the food business.”
