001012 Sanderson Farms Announces Quarterly Dividend

Laurel, MS - Sanderson Farms, Inc. announced that its Board of Directors has declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of $.05 (five cents) per share payable October 24, 2000, to stockholders of record on October 10, 2000.

Sanderson Farms, Inc. is engaged in the production, processing, marketing and distribution of fresh and frozen chicken and other prepared food items. Its shares trade on the Nasdaq National Market under the symbol SAFM.
