000234 Kraft Foods Completes Boca Burger AcquisitionFebruary 19, 2000Northfield, IL - Kraft Foods, the nation's largest packaged foods company, announced that it has completed the acquisition of Boca Burger, Inc., a privately held manufacturer and marketer of soy-based meat alternatives. Terms were not disclosed. “We are pleased to welcome the high-growth Boca Burger business to the Kraft portfolio of leading brands,” said Kevin Scott, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Kraft's Boca Foods Division. “Boca Burger's products are strongly aligned with consumers' desire for healthful food choices, as well as convenient meal solutions.” Boca Burger, based in Chicago, IL, had 1999 revenues of about $40 million, almost double the previous year. After a transition period, Kraft plans to move the business' headquarters from Chicago to Madison, WI, where its Oscar Mayer Division is based. Boca Burger's frozen soy-based product line includes Boca Burgers (2.5 oz. Patties), Bigger Boca Burgers (3.5 oz.
