000232 Chef's Pork Cooking Contest to Benefit United WayFebruary 19, 2000Raleigh, NC - The Sampson County United Way will benefit from proceeds raised in conjunction with the North Carolina Pork Council's chef's competition, “The Taste of Elegance,” on Sunday, February 27, 2000. Eight chefs will compete by cooking original and elegant pork recipes. The following chefs will participate and compete for $1,000 top prize: Chef Bobby Carraway, Carraway's Restaurant, Kinston; Chef Derrick McCorkle, Ramada Inn, Clemmons; Chef Dodd Aldred, Chef Unlimited Catering, Raleigh; Chef Steve Vagasky, My Chef Catering, Raleigh; Chef Curt Shelvey, Ironwood Cafe, Pinehurst; Chef John F. Hofland, II, Eseeola Lodge, Linville; and Chef Michael Bojara, Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club, Durham.
