 991208 South Dakota's Red Meat Production Shows RiseDecember 1, 1999 Sioux Falls, SD - October's commercial red meat production for South Dakota was up four percent from the previous month, but down seven percent compared to a year ago. That's according to the South Dakota Agricultural Statistics Service. Last month, total commercial red meat production totaled 85-point-seven Million pounds. Also last month, beef, sheep and lamb production were up from a year ago, while pork production was down.
