990712 Hamburger Hamlet Adds "Burgers Around the World"

Irvine, CA - The Hamlet Group, Inc., a subsidiary of Prandium, Inc., announced the introduction of a series of new burgers. The new menu additions boast unique sets of flavors from around the world including the “Italiano! Burger,” “Burger Ole!,” a “French Onion” burger, the delectable “Thai Burger” and the “All-American Classic” burger.

“Our new burgers were created after months of study by our culinary team. We have evaluated where the trends are headed and the variety our customers are looking for. Our near 50 year history has produced some real winners in the burger category, and we are excited to launch this international series,” commented Jennifer Maloney, director of marketing for Hamburger Hamlet. “When you look at where the majority of our Hamlets are located, it becomes very clear that we operate in markets with wide cosmopolitan tastes. We believe our new international burger family will not only be interesting for our regular valued guests, but also attract new guests from around the world.”

“These five new burgers are a tasty round-up of the next wave of burger style dining. We designed each with the culinary flavor profile of the country it represents and are excited about their contemporary and broad appeal,” commented Executive Chef John P. Birdsall. This series is the second new menu addition to come from the Hamlet kitchens since being under the new ownership of Prandium. In February, Birdsall and his team launched the very successful “Hamlet at Night” menu which included Hamlet's Sizzling Steak, Turkey Meatloaf and Crab Cakes.

About "Burgers Around the World"

- The Italiano! Burger starts with Hamburger Hamlet's popular 8-oz. beef patty, topped with a spicy Italian sausage, marinara sauce, mozzarella and parmesan cheese served on toasted Focaccia bread. This burger is accompanied by penne pasta in a herb vinaigrette.

- The Burger Ole! is for those that enjoy hot and spicy. A 6-oz. beef patty topped with refried beans, roasted Anaheim chilis, guacamole, Monterey jack and Cheddar cheeses, shredded lettuce, pico de gallo and Hamburger Hamlet's very own blend of roasted chili mayonnaise. This burger is served with blue and yellow corn tortilla chips.

- The French Onion Burger is sure to satisfy taste buds. Hamburger Hamlet tops this 8-oz. burger with a sauteed onion demi-glaze, mushrooms, Swiss cheeses, dijonnaise, and Hamburger Hamlet's own little fried onions and serve it all on a French roll.

- The Thai Burger is a spicy delight. Hamburger Hamlet's 6-oz. beef patty is topped with a cucumber salad, spicy peanut sauce and shredded lettuce on a sesame seed bun and served with won ton strips.

- The All-American Burger is as All-American as apple pie. 6-oz. of beef patty is topped with ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, pickles, sliced red onion, crisp lettuce and tomato, and is served with steak fries.
