990243 Tyson Reorganizes Itself Into Four Groups

February 16, 1999

Springdale, AR - Tyson Foods Inc., the largest poultry producer in the country, said it was reorganizing its operations to improve efficiency and customer service.

Tyson said it was dividing its operations into four groups: food service, consumer products, international, and prepared foods.

“Its basic premise is one of a market segmented organization with profit and loss responsibility delegated to four major business sectors or groups, with each of these groups further segmented into divisions,” it said.

“This is a much tighter alignment of our sales efforts in the various markets with our production operations than we have had in the past,” it added.

Tyson said a president would preside over each group and report to the chief executive officer, Wayne Britt.
