Washington - U.S. Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman repeated his belief that more U.S. food will be donated to struggling countries partly to help deplete U.S. grain and meat surpluses at home.
I see that going forward, he said.
After all, there are still a lot of hungry people in the world and we have large excess supplies here, he said on C-SPAN.
Glickman did not provide any specifics.
The Agriculture Department late last year negotiated a massive food aid package to Russia and provided U.S. food humanitarian aid to other struggling countries.
