Washington - The U.S. Agriculture Department said that it has bought 990,000 pounds of frozen ground beef at a cost of about $1.03 million.
The product will be distributed in the national school lunch program and other federal food assistance programs.
Since June 30, USDA has bought 119.3 million pounds of frozen beef products at a cost of about $122.1 million.
