Baltimore - The Environmental Protection Agency says there's not much time left for the chicken industry to make concessions to help cut pollution. Regional administrator Michael McCabe made those comments during a speech in Maryland. McCabe says he's wants to work with poultry companies to reduce run- off. The EPA could have draft regulations ready by next week in dealing with handling of animal waste. Nitrogen and phosphorous pollution from chicken manure is believed responsible for algae blooms in Delmarva waterways... and be partially responsible for the spread of pfiesteria.
