Los Angeles - SurplusFoods.com (SFC) has launched into international cyberspace. Food manufacturers and distributors from several European and Asian countries, including Hong Kong, Singapore, the United Kingdom, Italy and France, have joined SurplusFoods.com.
Presently, SFC has more than 135 members registered to its site, including food manufacturers, distributors and restaurant chains. Additionally, more than $6 million worth of inventory has been listed on the SFC site.
The products listed on the Web site vary, including different types of beverages, dairy products, fish/seafood, fruits, vegetables, grocery items, meats, poultry, frozen foods and supplies associated with the food service industry. Vendors are taking advantage of this new and efficient method for disposing of surplus or excess inventory.
SurplusFoods.com operates an Internet site which is designed to be a complete surplus inventory management solution, providing an electronic marketplace where members can buy and sell surplus inventory. This business-to- business site is an electronic clearinghouse which allows sellers to efficiently move excess, surplus, close-out and over-run inventory.
