Columbus, OH - The Columbus, Ohio based fast food hamburger chain, White Castle System, Inc., has teamed up with Dallas, Texas-based Pat Summerall Productions to create a video “snapshot” of White Castle's business history. A two minute version of the program aired on the MS/NBC network, , July 7, 1998, some time between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. E.D.T. The program is one of a series produced by Summerall called “Champions of Industry.”
Well-known television sports commentator Pat Summerall narrates the program. Footage was shot on location at a White Castle restaurant and at the White Castle executive office in Columbus, Ohio.
The program focuses on the White Castle philosophy based on the “four P's”: product, passion, people, and partnerships. The product is the 100% beef, steam-grilled White Castle hamburger that has been marketed since 1921. The passion is the craving that customers have for the product. The people are a loyal and dedicated family of friends, with 15% of the work force with 10 or more years of service. And partnerships: those long-standing relationships that have helped White Castle survive and grow, like the 77 year relationship with Coca-Cola and the 66 year relationship with Jefferson Smurfit carton manufacturing.
Summerall also hosts a 5-minute version of the program that was produced for White Castle's internal use.
