Gallatin, MO - Continental Grain Co said Tuesday it has agreed to acquire a 51 percent interest in Premium Standard Farms, a Missouri based pork operation.
The company said in a statement the transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 1998. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Under the agreement the new organization will include all existing Premium Standard Farms operations in Missouri and Texas and the Continental Grain pork production operation in Missouri, the statement said.
